Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 November 2026

This page explains what personal data Kristal Puzzle Games collects, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and what your rights are. We collect as little as we can.

Who we are

Kristal Puzzle Games is a small independent publisher of puzzle books, run by B. Kristal in Israel. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

For anything about your data, email [email protected].

What we collect, and why

When you apply for a free review copy

What: your name, email address, whether you solve on a tablet, the book you chose, how often you solve puzzles, where you usually review books, an optional blog or social media link, which Amazon store you use, and optionally where you heard about us.

Why: to choose who receives a copy, email you the PDF, personalise the PDF with your name and email address (to discourage sharing), and send you at most one follow-up email about your copy.

When you tick “Email me when a new book comes out”

What: your name and email address.

Why: to tell you about new books. We only do this if you tick the box.

When you email us

What: your email address and whatever you write.

Why: to reply to you.

When you visit this website

What: the technical data every browser sends to every website, such as your IP address and browser type. Our hosting provider processes it.

Why: to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

No cookies, no tracking. This website sets no cookies and uses no advertising trackers. Its fonts and images are served from our own site, not from third parties.

Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages and referring sites people arrive from, and roughly which country and device type they use. It sets no cookies, does not use your browser’s storage, and does not build a profile of you or follow you across websites. We only see totals, never individual visitors. We use it because we have a legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Because it doesn’t track individuals, browser “Do Not Track” signals don’t change anything here.

When you buy a book, Amazon handles the whole sale. We never receive your name, address or payment details from Amazon.

Do you have to give us this data?

No law requires you to. But without your name and email address we can’t send you a review copy, and without your email address we can’t add you to the new-book list. The other questions on the form help us choose readers. Skipping them only affects your chances of being selected.

Legal basis (EU and UK visitors)

Who can see your data

Only us. We never sell or rent your data, and we never share it for anyone else’s marketing. These service providers process it on our behalf:

These providers may store data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. They protect these international transfers with recognised safeguards, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Email us for details.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Email [email protected] and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority. In Israel that is the Privacy Protection Authority. In the UK it is the ICO, and in the EU it is your country’s national authority.

Security

Your data is kept in a Google account protected by two-step verification, and only we can access it.

Children

Our books and this website are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us their details, email us and we’ll delete them.

California residents

We do not sell or share personal information as California law defines it. All the rights above apply to you too.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you’ve already given us, we’ll email you before it takes effect.
